Inspection methods for stamped parts

Touch inspection

Wipe the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze. The inspector needs to wear touch gloves to touch the surface of the stamped part longitudinally, and this inspection method depends on the inspector's experience. If necessary, oil stones can be used to polish and verify the suspicious areas that have been detected, but this method is an effective and fast inspection method.

Oil stone polishing

1. First, use a clean gauze to wipe the surface of the outer cover, and then polish it with an oilstone (20 × twenty × 100mm or larger), use relatively small oilstones to polish areas with circular arcs and difficult to reach areas (e.g. 8 × 100mm semi circular oilstone)

2. The selection of oil stone particle size depends on the surface condition (such as roughness, galvanizing, etc.). It is recommended to use fine-grained oilstones. The direction of oil stone polishing is basically carried out along the longitudinal direction, and it fits well with the surface of the stamped parts. In some special areas, horizontal polishing can also be supplemented.

Flexible gauze polishing

Wipe the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze. Grind the surface of the stamped part longitudinally with a flexible sand mesh to the entire surface, and any pitting or indentation will be easily detected.

Oil coating inspection

Wipe the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze. Use a clean brush to evenly apply oil in the same direction to the entire outer surface of the stamped part. Place the oiled stamped parts under strong light for inspection. It is recommended to place the stamped parts vertically on the vehicle body. By using this method, it is easy to detect small pits, pits, and ripples on the stamped parts.

Visual inspection

Visual inspection is mainly used to detect visual abnormalities and macroscopic defects in stamped parts.

Inspection with inspection tools

Place the stamped parts into the inspection tool and inspect them according to the operating requirements of the inspection tool manual.

Production issues Safety production

In actual production, process tests similar to the stamping process are commonly used, such as deep drawing performance tests, bulging performance tests, etc., to inspect the stamping performance of materials, in order to ensure the quality of finished products and high qualification rates.

The accuracy and structure of stamping equipment molds directly affect the forming and accuracy of stamping parts. The cost and lifespan of mold manufacturing are important factors that affect the cost and quality of stamping parts. Mold design and manufacturing require a considerable amount of time, which extends the production preparation time for new stamped parts.

The standardization and development of simple molds (for small batch production), composite molds, multi-station progressive molds (for mass production), and the development of rapid mold changing devices can reduce the workload and time of stamping production preparation, making it suitable for reducing the workload and time of stamping production preparation, The advanced stamping technology suitable for mass production can be reasonably applied to small batch and multi variety production.

In addition to forming thick plates with hydraulic presses, stamping equipment generally uses mechanical presses. Conveying and other machinery, as well as mold libraries and rapid mold changing devices, can be controlled by computer programs to form a high productivity automatic stamping production line.

When producing dozens or hundreds of stamping parts per minute, completing processes such as feeding, stamping, ejecting, and waste disposal in a short period of time often leads to personal, equipment, and quality accidents. Therefore, safety production in stamping is a very important issue.

During the stamping process of general workpieces, due to the rapid increase in temperature during the stamping process, especially during cold forging and stamping processing, lubricating products must be added for lubrication. If lubrication is not used and stamping, welding and assembly are carried out directly, and parts without oil on the surface are easy to weld and assemble. The research and practice show that AMC metal inert gas arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and resistance welding have good results.
